Our Mission:

The Greater Philadelphia Choral Society performs a diverse repertoire of quality choral music. Through our performances we seek to create transcendent experiences for our musical artists and audiences as we share the deepest meanings and desires of our common humanity.

Core Values:

  • Develop and build singer skills in voice production, musicianship, and interpretive artistry

  • Perform and/or collaborate with under-served and senior communities, special needs facilities, grade schools, higher educational and graduate facilities

  • Participate and collaborate with young musician organizations to broaden and advance musical appreciation across all cultures and genres

  • Utilize our platform to serve the community in practical ways such as assisting those with food insecurity

Greetings, Music Lovers! Our Christmas Celebration concert with Choir and Brass was a huge success! Audiences enjoyed Daniel Pinkham's Christmas Cantata, as well as lovely anthems and carols arranged by Canadian Brass composers, and a carol sing-along, accompanied by the talented Timberdale Brass. We are excited to announce that our spring concert will comprise the exquisite Requiem of Maurice Duruflé, as well as Randall Thompson's Frostiana, a delightful setting of seven poems of Robert Frost. The Philadelphia Girls Choir and Musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Friends will join us for this performance. Our mezzo soloist will be Anne Marie Stanley, a Grand Finals Winner of the 2022 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. Anne Marie also recently performed the title role in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia at the Royal Opera House. Slated for 3PM on May 21 at St. David's Episcopal Church in Wayne, PA, this concert must not be missed!

We are intentionally philanthropic in our philosophy - our goals include serving those less fortunate in our community. As such, we collect non-perishable food items at our concerts that will supply local food banks. In December we enjoyed providing a carol singing event for inmates at Camden County Correctional Facility, and plan to continue this and other such practices at the holiday season. When feasible, we will be presenting informal concerts for local nursing homes or retirement communities. We welcome any ideas for other beneficiaries of our time and talents, to make our world a little brighter.

We welcome new singers! Go to "Join Us" page to find an audition form.
